NO This report examines the relationship between climate change and security across Eastern Europe by identifying geographically defined hotspots where environmental and socio-economic pressures intersect with existing vulnerabilities. It draws on desk studies, stakeholder consultations and joint regional analysis to assess risks, combining existing data, expert input and participatory mapping. The assessment considers political, economic and environmental conditions, climate hazards and adaptive capacity to evaluate impacts on infrastructure, livelihoods and stability. Findings indicate that climate change acts as a threat multiplier, intensifying resource competition, economic insecurity, migration and social tensions, while highlighting significant uncertainties due to data limitations and variability in projections.
