NO Africa Group Comment Item 7. This document proposes edits to a Chair’s Summary, stressing that private sector participation is difficult and time-consuming and urging focus on emission reductions over approaches seen as not delivering immediate results (e.g., nature-based solutions). It calls for UNEP work across all KMGBF areas, biodiversity mainstreaming across sectors, stronger environmental legislation, coordination with existing institutions, Member State consultation on structural changes, and safeguarding UNEP independence from private-sector donor interests.
