NO The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is a semi-autonomous institution, established in May 1995 under the National Environment Act CAP, 153
NO and became operational in December 1995 as the Principal Agency in Uganda, charged with the mandate of coordinating, monitoring, regulating and supervising environmental management in the country. In December 2008 the NEMA Board approved a five-year Strategic Plan developed by NEMA Management in order to enhance the performance of its mandate, realization of the vision, mission, goal and objectives. It is envisaged that the new Strategic Plan (2009-2014) will enhance NEMA’s interventions in addressing the current and emerging environmental issues and challenges in Uganda
