NO The Marine and Coastal Ecosystems Framework aims to integrate and harmonize all programmes, projects, and activities that were and are proposed to be implemented in the East Asian Seas by Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA) in relation to all matters related to the conservation and governance of the marine and coastal environments, including its biodiversity and ecosystems conditions. The contents of the Framework are based on the successes and recommendation of previous COBSEA projects, international frameworks and targets including the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14 and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), studies commissioned by COBSEA, and consultations with experts in the field, in particular, nominated delegates from COBSEA participating countries. The actions included in the Framework are designed to complement each other.
