NO This document presents a statement delivered on behalf of the Arab Group at a quarterly meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives on 12 September 2024. It thanks the United Nations Environment Programme leadership and secretariat for preparing the meeting and the quarterly report, and responds to activities from April to June. It welcomes World Environment Day’s focus on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience, and notes the Arab Environment Forum in Riyadh on land degradation and related themes. It addresses long-term environmental damage in Palestine, especially Gaza, welcomes a preliminary environmental assessment issued on 18 June, and requests clarification on next steps, mitigation, and coordination.
