It is heavier than air and easily liquefied below its critical points. It is odourless, except at high concentrations, when it has a chloroform-like smell. It is non-flammable in air, except in the Concentration range of 10-16%, but burns in oxygen. Methyl bromide is slightly soluble in water but freely soluble in other common solvents.
