It will also assess the potential for cocoa agro-forestry to contribute tothe country’s target of restoring forest cover to 20% of land area by 2030, in accordance with current national policies and action plans. This document presents the methodology, the results of preliminary supporting activities to guide the methodology, and the results of its application to identify and prioritise those areas. This is a spatial prioritisation exercise to identify the potential to achieve environmental objectives and does not, at this stage, include socio-economic considerations. Such considerations, including gender related dimensions, should be part of any subsequent step towards implementation of agro-forestry in the priority areas identifiedthrough this study.
