The theme of the conference was: “Taking action for Environmental Sustainability and Prosperity in Africa.” From 9 to 10 November, regional multi-stakeholder consultations were held, with the goal of engaging civil society organizations and other stakeholders to effectively contribute during the main conference.The outcome of AMCEN was a regional statement by the Major Groups which also included recommendations on the UN Secretary General’s Special Summit on Climate Change.
