A plan was developed for cleaner production in Lebanese industry, with a special focus on the Litani River and Qaraoun Lake. Activities and outputs were measured and monitored. The industrial sector was chosen as a priority because of the potential it offered for leapfrogging to socially inclusive SCP practices that preserved the environment, for integrating natural capital into core businesses, and for creating a critical mass of citizens for SCP.
