The recently-signed free trade agreement with the EU (DCFTA) is expected to reduce custom duties and make Ukrainian produce cheaper and more competitive in the EU market, thereby also opening up new business opportunities throughout Ukraine’s organic value chains. The premium prices offered by international markets can also contribute to higher incomes of the country’s organic producers, while a vibrant organic sector can be a strategic marketing asset that will increase the appeal of Ukraine’s organic produce not only among international, but also among domestic consumers.
