NO This document summarizes a mid-term UNEP/GEF workshop for the Africa region on the POPs Global Monitoring Plan (GMP2) under the Stockholm Convention, held 23–25 July 2018 in Lusaka, Zambia. It reviews progress since GMP1, outlines capacity building for air, water, and human milk monitoring, and lists participating countries. Status: air and water sampling on track; about 40% of human milk surveys completed. It details standardized SOPs, training schedules, and multi-round interlaboratory assessments, and describes the POPs Laboratory Databank and data warehouse. The goal is comparable, quality-assured POPs data to support national, regional and global effectiveness evaluation and reporting over time.
