NO Countries of the West Asia region have been experiencing different degrees of natural and anthropogenic water risk regarding the sustainability of their limited water resources and preservation of the ecosystem equilibrium. The fragile arid environment and its resiliency to cope with external natural and human activities, including the expected impacts from climate change, presents a major challenge to decision makers. They have to achieve adequate, safe and dependable water sources and food supply in the future for improving the well-being of the society as well as meeting the requirements of the future generations.
