NO Although no way has yet been found of quantifying the motor vehicle's undoubted benefits or its disadvantages, including social aspects and costs, this booklet, which is based on the material collected together for the UNEP Motor Vehicle Seminar, attempts to set out for decision-makers the various issues regarding the environmental impact of the motor vehicle and to provide guidance on optimum motor vehicle use and manufacturing processes from the environmental standpoint.
