NO The workshop on "Listening to the People: Social Aspects of Dry-Land Management" was organized to develop a better understanding of community participation' and 'bottom-up development'. There is a great deal of discussion in environment and development circles about the importance of involving rural communities in activities aimed at stopping dry-land degradation, promoting good land management and achieving sustainable development.
