It describes the expansion of the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0, which now covers a substantial share of global production and promotes measurement-based reporting, alongside the Methane Alert and Response System, which integrates satellite data and artificial intelligence to notify governments and companies of large emission events. The report also presents methane science studies that validate measurement methods and establish national baselines, the Steel Methane Programme targeting metallurgical coal emissions, and the Eye on Methane platform, which integrates data, builds capacity and supports regulatory alignment.
