NO This report presents field testing undertaken by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation of six commercially available dental amalgam separators installed in eighteen dental practices over a six to eight month period in 2003 to 2004. It outlines the regulatory and environmental context of mercury discharges from dental wastewater, describes separator technologies based on sedimentation, filtration and ion exchange, and explains installation configurations for wet and dry vacuum systems.
