Visakhapatnam is the second-largest urban agglomeration in Andhra Pradesh with a population of about 1.73 million, and its role as a major economic centre has led to continued in-migration and increasing travel demand. The study is based on primary surveys, including household interviews, traffic counts, and vehicle data collection, combined with modelling of travel demand and emissions. It analyses socio-economic characteristics, trip patterns, and infrastructure conditions to establish baseline indicators. Future scenarios up to 2030 are developed using land use, public transport, non-motorised transport, and technology interventions, showing that combined measures are required to reduce congestion, emissions, and traffic-related impacts.
