Spanning from September to December 2023, the initiative targeted the Africa and Latin America and Caribbean regions to identify practical methods for integrating national implementation activities. Through a global mapping exercise, surveys of thirty representative countries, and bilateral interviews, the project investigated existing governance structures, institutional arrangements, and best practices. The findings reveal that while most countries have established collaborative routines, significant barriers remain, including limited human resources, knowledge loss from staff turnover, and administrative hurdles. Ultimately, the document provides a comprehensive overview of the current capacities and challenges faced by national focal points in coordinating cross-cutting environmental obligations.
