NO This presentation describes how the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and the Sustainable Ocean Initiative support alignment between global biodiversity policy and sustainable ocean management. It explains how biodiversity targets under the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011–2020 correspond with global goals on conserving and sustainably using oceans and marine resources, including actions addressing marine pollution, ecosystem protection, sustainable fisheries management, and conservation of coastal and marine areas. The document outlines institutional roles of parties, governing bodies, and the secretariat in agenda setting, monitoring, and capacity development. It also highlights scientific identification of ecologically or biologically significant marine areas and presents marine spatial planning and international partnerships as mechanisms supporting cooperation, information exchange, and coordinated implementation.
