Although it is not limited to any specific discipline, it can be adapted to meet particular learning outcomes in various subject areas and is suitable for use from primary through senior secondary levels. Its main objectives are to support teachers in delivering accurate and evidence-based information on the causes and impacts of climate change, to guide them in using relevant local contexts when teaching climate-related concepts, and to build their competence in fostering students’ action-oriented skills for climate change adaptation and mitigation. The toolkit includes comprehensive content on the basic science and mechanisms of climate change, along with practical guidance on adaptation and mitigation strategies. It also provides diverse learner-centered activities that can be tailored to different classroom contexts, as well as short assessment tasks to help teachers evaluate students’ understanding and learning progress.
