It compiles botanical data derived from herbarium collections, floristic surveys, ecological studies, and earlier research on plant distribution and rarity in Egypt. The work is based primarily on data extracted from A.G. Fahmy’s thesis, supplemented with maps and illustrations obtained from multiple sources. It describes species morphology, habitat and ecology, distribution, and conservation status, and records specimen collections. The publication forms part of a phased series in which initial volumes address about ninety endangered woody perennial species, followed by a second volume covering roughly two hundred and twenty annual, biennial, and perennial species undergoing systematic revision, with a final edition planned to incorporate revised information, drawings, and photographs.
