NO This paper provides a summary of the status of different biological marine resources, habitats, species groups and species of economic value and/or scientific interest within the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). It also gives an overview of the degradation of these resources that is becoming apparent through much of this region. The extent of national and international activities directed towards managing and conserving these resources is also indicated.
