NO This Terminal Evaluation was undertaken at the completion of the GEF project also known as NAP Global Support Programme (implemented from 2013-2015). The objective of the programme was “to strengthen institutional and technical capacities for iterative development of comprehensive National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) in Least Developed Countries (LDCs)”. While the Programme was global in nature, it targeted LDCs, and was implemented jointly by UNDP and UNEP. While LDCs were targeted in general, 16 LDCs received one-on-one support: Angola, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Comoros, Djibouti, Guinea, Liberia, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, The Gambia, Senegal and Tanzania. The evaluation had two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote operational improvement, learning and knowledge-sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, UNDP, and with main project partners including IFAD, WHO, FAO, UNITAR, and GIZ.
