Report on the Launch of the Caribbean Platform of The UNEP GPA Global Wastewater Initiative (GW2I)

This document reports on a 27 October 2016 meeting in Trinidad and Tobago that both reviewed the Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (CReW) and launched the Caribbean platform of the UNEP/GPA Global Wastewater Initiative. It summarizes CReW’s components and outcomes—innovative financing mechanisms, construction of treatment plants, strengthened policies and laws, a bilingual knowledge website, and training for 600+ practitioners—along with lessons that informed the follow-on CReW+ with five pillars: enabling standards, financing facility, infrastructure, technology testing, and communication.
