The Bamako Convention: A platform for a Pollution Free Africa - Proposal on organization of work for the Second Meeting of the Conference of Parties

This document sets out the organization of work for the Second Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Bamako Convention in Abidjan, 30 January–1 February 2018. It designates officers for overall COP coordination, legal and strategic oversight, and management of organizational matters, contact groups, and the ministerial dinner. Four contact groups, chaired by Niger, Cameroon, Egypt, and Zimbabwe, cover programme of work and lessons learned, synergies with other agreements, technical assistance and implementation issues, and administrative, financial, and budgetary matters. It enumerates related draft decisions and identifies logistical tasks for arrival, transport, security, protocol, registration, and conference services.
