Greening SMEs in the EU Eastern Partnership Countries - Policy Highlights

This policy highlights document summarises the main findings of the Environmental Policy Toolkit for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Greening in the European Union Eastern Partnership countries. It examines how governments in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine can promote environmental compliance and greener business practices among small and medium-sized enterprises through regulatory simplification, information-based measures, and financial incentives. Drawing on Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and European Union experience, it outlines key barriers faced by enterprises, including limited awareness, capacity constraints and financing challenges, while highlighting opportunities for improved environmental performance, eco-innovation, cost savings and enhanced competitiveness.
