Climate Change 1994: Radiative Forcing of Climate Change and an Evaluation of the IPCC IS92 Emission Scenarios

This report, produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, examines radiative forcing of climate change and evaluates the 1992 emission scenarios. It reviews the effects of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, halocarbons, ozone, aerosols, solar variability and volcanic activity on radiative forcing. It also examines atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations, carbon-cycle processes, future carbon dioxide concentrations and stabilisation pathways. The report assesses the emission scenarios using assumptions concerning demographic, economic, energy and policy developments, and presents modelling results concerning future emissions, atmospheric concentrations and the implications of different stabilisation levels.
