Validated Terminal Review of the UNEP/GEF Project Development of an improved and innovative management system for sustainable climate-resilient livelihoods in Mauritania (GEF ID 5580) 2017 - 2022

This report is a management-led Terminal Review of a UNEP/GEF-funded project implemented between 2017 and 2022. The project's overall development goal was to reduce the vulnerability to climate change of national government and local communities in the forests and rangelands of the Sahelian Acacia Savanna Ecoregion The review sought to assess project performance (in terms of relevance, effectiveness and efficiency), and determine outcomes and impacts (actual and potential) stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The review has two primary purposes: (i) to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements, and (ii) to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the relevant agencies of the project participating countries.
