Measuring Progress: Towards Achieving the Environmental Dimension of the SDGs

The analysis identifies improvements in areas such as protected areas coverage, renewable energy expansion, and integrated water resources management, while noting persistent challenges including water stress, air pollution, material consumption growth, biodiversity loss, and insufficient climate finance. It also underscores significant data gaps and statistical capacity constraints that limit comprehensive monitoring and evidence-based policy making.
