Appendix 1: National Training Reports

This document is Appendix 1 of a report compiled under the United Nations Environment Programme’s Global Environment Facility (GEF) Global Monitoring Plan (GMP2) project, supporting the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). It specifically serves as a detailed record of capacity-building and laboratory training activities conducted across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean regions to enhance country-level expertise in sampling, analyzing, and monitoring POPs in various matrices such as air, water, soil, biota, and human milk. The appendix compiles reports on tailored theoretical and hands-on workshops delivered to laboratory personnel from governmental, academic, and research institutions, with focus areas including practical analytical techniques (extraction, clean-up, fractionation, chromatographic analysis), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), equipment maintenance, and laboratory management.
